A new beginning?

My original blog, A Growing Delight,  ( http://heathhill.blogspot.com) seems to have stagnated for some months and now that I've changed my ISP and login name, etc.  I can no longer access and work on it.  So that seems like a good time to begin another one, and hope that I can post a little more frequently.

As mentioned in my header, our garden, which to us was A Growing Delight, continues to grow and develop and we now find ourselves enjoying a more mature garden, although it isn't finished yet even after all these years.  There are several places that are very inviting for a cup of tea (several times a day), either in a sunny spot or more often a lovely shady one.  We often sit on the deck where the outlook gives the impression of living in the treetops.

These photos were taken in mid-December.  (Click on any photo to enlarge.)

This is an entirely new blog program to me and I'm having a bit of a frustrating time learning the ropes.  I'm sure the layout will change in the coming weeks as I decide which bits I like and which I don't.  Some aspects I find easier than the old program, but others require a little more patience and a lot more determination.  Please bear with me as I muddle through!

  1. Like a lot. Sorry you had problems with the old account. Did you try emailing tech support - perhaps you can import your previous posts into this blog. Or at least have a permanent link to the old blog in the sidebar.

    1. Thanks, Tanya. I think the easiest thing is to put a permanent link on the new site. I think this one actually has more options and I'll get to like it better anyway.

    2. Hello Dear Alice....
Delighted to hear from you and so pleased to see you back into blogging. Enjoyed the trip around your garden... goodness, so many different aspects you show that I haven't seen before... it all looks so immaculate and a joy to behold. Your garden must be vast. I guess you are heading into your autumn season as we are on the threshold of spring. Look forward to your Continuing Delights. Bestest Regards to you and Richard.

  4. Thanks, Shelle. No, still a bit to go, but pretty happy with most of it. Still fiddling with the blog too so goodness knows how it will finish up.

  5. What a wonderful collection of beautiful garden pictures... thanks for sharing with us who live where winter is basically just beginning in what has proven to be a most unusual year! Larry

  6. Thanks, Larry. I was hoping you would be seeing signs of Spring by now. We have had a very cool summer on the eastern side of the country, very hot on the west, and extremely wet in the northeast resulting in more bad flooding. I think we've all forgotten what 'normal' seasons are. Your garden is still looking magnificent though, even under all that snow!

  8. Hello Dear Alice,
I neglected to come back (as I meant to) and leave a comment when I first had a look at your new blog. Your garden is looking lush and so well tended. There are so many plants in your little paradise! I would so love to wander through it with you and Richard. We'd have to have lots of time to take it all in...and a cup of tea in one of those shady spots....or sunny...depending on the weather...would be the cat's whiskers :)
Your mother would've loved your garden and been so proud of you both and the beautiful spot you've created.
What a good idea to put the bamboo in containers. It looks so pretty.
I'm so happy the weather is co-operating this summer and giving you such a beautiful and continuing delight :) xoxoxo
